of all the bloody hells you put me through in your games... that was a hell of a finale.

This is a great addition to the 'ROvania' Series you have (may as well call it a series.) It's fun yet challenging, keeps you on your toes yet you don't feel like your a glass cannon. While your able to tank some meaty blows your skill at reading and doging attacks comes first rather then just beefing yourself out yet it balances out nicely. This is indeed a very well done game. I was able to beat that final challenge... probably burned through twenty potions and had to attempt it... 7 times I think? and the best part is that you don't have to rely on spamming dodge, not that you can anyway, well I couldn't.

Fun game play, good curve, fun gear and items. I enjoy the references. Keep up the great work. I myself had not encountered any bugs in my play through, maybe I got lucky? I use fire fox

It was thanks to 20 or so bug reports in the first 10 review pages that I managed to get some of the crap together. Thanks again for checking in.

Fun game, it's good to see your work culminate into this. So far, upon writing this and passing judgement, I completed 3 levels (intro and two others) and got three party members. So far each member feels unique to themselves so far. The controls do feel a bit rough in response from time to time but nothing to ruin the game. The hit box... I dunno I'd have to test it, it feels good yet rough, if that makes sense, then again making a hit box for this game I'd imagine is tricky. Glad to see that the slide kick isn't broken like in the knight's game.

I like alot of the nods you gave to a few games, I won't put them down so others can learn about them. I noticed you brought the ranking system back too. It be nice to see a kind of progress bar with that, so I get a feel of just good I am with it. Still the ranking themselves give a good idea of where I'm at. I'm also glad that you incorporated one of my initial ideas, the tag-out system, cool to see that. Glad to see that I managed to help with the creation of this game in a small way. Here's to your next project.

ShadowWhoWalks responds:

Thanks for the detailed review. You've been at it since Ragnarok Eternal, I still remember your review. I hope this didn't disappoint too much.
I'm trying to figure out this rough feeling thing, you're not the only one to report it.
Thanks for the review and please keep me posted on your progress.

Definitely has alot of potential, can't wait for the full game.

TwinBlazar responds:

Thank you. :)

This is arguably one of the most complete game I have played on newgrounds in a long time. It's simple yet effective, every level has it's own theme, gimmick and even it';s own seperate story, the combat system, while not the depest, still has you thinking 'what is the best way to beat this guy, what is his weakness, how can I hurt the enemy without spamming my special?' I played this game to the end, not even realizing I started at... 9:30 at night, till 4:30 in the morning.

The check point system does work (reading one of their authors responses I can confirm that.) That said the deaths never really feel cheated, they always come across as 'damn I messed up' or 'why didn't I do this instead of that?' The dash mechanic does feel broken... for standerd enemies, then you go against a boss... YOU NEED THAT DASH ABILITY XD all the projectiles! It feels balanced in a way your broken, but you face enemies clearly your equal (except for the pheasent girl... she's a push over...)

The heart strings... that sunflower level, god DAMN the heart strings... that was easily the longest level and, to those just picking the game up, if you read this, I do recommend starting on the rotten pinnacle, I won't say why (for spoiler sake) but that's the level I started on, and I could tell, it saved me alot of grief. I still find it cool how essentially every mechanic from every level has it's own way of carrying over to the other levels, very nice touch.

I dunno what else to add really, if the game were on steam hell I'd actually pick it up. Maybe there could be more too it, bonus characters to play as, perhaps a gauntlet run. Maybe post-game there can be special side challenges to test your platforming ability with all the skills you got. (Still havn't gotten the one door in the light house tho...) Honestly, this is a VERY enjoyable game and delivers exactly what it should be. It has strong mini stories but it doesn't stray too far from what it is and it knows what it is, a beat em up, yet is not afraid to mix things up, congratulations on an amazing game.

TwinBlazar responds:

Thank you very much for your review. I appreciated it. :)

It's enjoyable, the only two negatives I can think of really, it's rather easy, altho that's not necessarily anything to rank down, however the controls for the surface assault mission at the death star is buggy. You can't go backwords, and if you hold the fire key instead of using auto fire, you can't turn left, only right, while going forward (just too clarify, that is the space bar, right and up arrow keys pressed at once, but you can't do that with the left key instead of the right key) messed me up because I'd be holding down fire, see on item too my left, try to turn only to go straight, I would have to either stop moving forward, or stop firing to turn left. Otherwise, this is a fairly fun fan game. A note on luciara's voice actor. You did a good job, but there was little emotion in it, was a bit monotone, that's all.

teejay-number13 responds:

Yeah I know about the space bar/ left arrow key bug. I haven't been able to figure out why it's doing that , but you can use the auto fire. And your not supposed to be able to fly backwards in that stage. And for Luciara's voice actor, its not easy doing accents and I think she did a great job.

it's back! a sequal as demanded by the fans. Let's see what was added vs the old game

1: there is now an enemy vs shooting notes flying across the screen, gives a focus on who too defeat
2: many new and more 'randomised' patterns vs the original that CANNOT be exploited and requires concentration (EX: pattern one of the first game, you sit against a wall at a specific point, you'll take very few hits, or sit in the middle and aim back and forth whenever you spot a rogue note, here, it's not that simple at all)
3: THERE IS A HIT BOX, SOUND THE CHORUS!
4: multiple game modes too get the experience fresh and replayable
5: There is a training mode, nice touch for those (like myself) who are not that good at bullet hells

and of course, you can still upload your own music, however there is one thing, altho it's a nit-pic... the char seemed cuter in the other game *shrugs* I dunno I just like cute characters, also wasn't it ment too be a band? I think that was brought up, be cool too have unlockable characters actually for beating a boss rush on a specific song (EX: beat a bass heavy song for the basist, a drum heavy song for the drummer, and a lyric focused song for a singer)

The only other thing is, I miss the bomb, altho I can see why it was removed, and there should be a 'focus' command (I know it's music based so you have too be careful with slow down, but it would be cool too have the option of making your song do the matrix XD probably make some awesome laughs too)

It has improved alot over the first, there is still room for even more, keep working on improving this game, there can be greater still

Nonako responds:

You are back to play my game again! I'm so happy to read and reply your review. XD XD XD
Thank you so much!

"also wasn't it ment too be a band? I think that was brought up, be cool too have unlockable characters actually for beating a boss rush on a specific song (EX: beat a bass heavy song for the basist, a drum heavy song for the drummer, and a lyric focused song for a singer)"
- Yes, this is what I want too, not really exactly but still similar. xD There are still many other characters but I'm not having any chance yet to put them in game as well as their stories. Maybe you won't like what I gonna say but from the start, I was about to make them (include the girl in this game) as some kind of war machines, not magical cute innocent girl, so not only a band but a army. But I think it is so much for me, not like I don't have enough skill but time and my bad English... :[

"It has improved alot over the first, there is still room for even more, keep working on improving this game, there can be greater still"
- xD I also think it can be much better, especially when It come to desktop game. I was planning to make a desktop version, so I can use maximum effects, better sync, much better graphic, won't have to worry about game size as well as game frame rate. Really hard for me to make it come true but thank for your words, I have more motive. I was quite depressed but then thank you again that I'm feeling better. xD

It feels like it can be good, but... black and white, flashing enemy projectiles, against an outer space back drop... horrible idea, you can never see them in swarms, making hard mode way too hard for anything, change the colors!

FylypFimpossible responds:

If there is any way to see how it looks in your computer.. I tried this game on about 5 different computers and don't have problems with see enemies. :( Maybe i have bad color settings huh

It's a decent shmup with the bonus of your own song list, has it be done before? yes, but this is a little more original, but at the same time not as varied, however being able too play too your own tracks is fun, as well as the speed of it (X6!? you can bairly see the notes go by!) The only flaw I really have... what is the hit box!? the guitar or the girl? that's my only grief about it and why i'm not giving it a full 5 star. also with only three patterns that repeat, it can be pretty easy for shmup fans, more patterns be fun, and probably have the option too set patterns at random (such as say, start with A, then jump too C, then A, then B, A, C, B, C, and so on, altho more variety be a good idea) If you could somehow upload more patterns in the future with a hitbox indication? I'd change my rate too 5/5, for now it's pretty good, can be improved

Nonako responds:

Thank you so much sir!

Seem that we will meet again with Beat Chaser 2. Not only more patterns, more play modes but also more playable characters, that what I'm planning.

*sight* If only I found a sponsor might this game was had a girl band with 4 members in it, not only one solo guitar. :<

beautiful artwork as usual, the poetic words, music and setting were indeed, very calming and relaxing which is nice after a hard day at work, very serene. The puzzles I enjoy, a little bit of a headache at the last one but I figured it out within reasonable time. I 'think' I know how too get the secret ending, but ill have too experiment too see if i'm right, and no, i'm not saying it~

Veinom responds:

I'm glad that you experienced the soothing feeling I hoped to create.
I hope you find the secret, you will love it. I'm sure!

Ragnarok + metroid/castlevania (take your pick) = epic win!

please, please, please, PLEASE complete this, normally i don't do these kinds of things, but i want this to be finished! only half way through and i don't wanna stop, common, this has got too be finished, please!

the only detail i have to say is, the slide attack honestly breaks the game a lil, as you can simply equip the halberd and spam slide, especially with berserk, 1.4k damage to a boss? wow

ShadowWhoWalks responds:

some players told me that they can use slide to beat the game with no effort, but besides from the second boss, is it really that good? Thanks for playing and I hope I can impress you as much in future releases.
